Women's Basketball Defeats No. 24 (AP) West Virginia 62-54

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Wumi Agunbiade netted 15 points as Duquesne upset No. 24 (AP) West Virginia, 62-54, in Morgantown.
Agunbiade, who finished the game with 994 career points, scored seven in the first 10:09 to help the Dukes to an 18-5 lead. Orsi Szecsi added 12 points and Vanessa Abel 10 for the Dukes (11-1), who never trailed.
The win was Duquesne's second over a ranked opponent this year after beating then-No. 17 Delaware on Nov. 14. Duquesne has now beaten four ranked opponents - including three on the road - since coach Suzie McConnell-Serio took over in 2007 after having beaten one in program history previously.
The win was the second straight for Duquesne against West Virginia following an 11-game losing streak in the series from 1995-2011.
Christal Caldwell led the Mountaineers (7-3) with 13 points.
The Dukes, who forced 23 West Virginia turnovers, limited Mountaineers to 29.8 percent (17 of 57) shooting. DU finished with 14 steals led by Jocelyn Floyd's seven. Duquesne went 22-of-27 from the foul line, including 17-of-21 in the second half.
