Women's Basketball Falls to Delaware 60-45 in Blue Sky Classic Final

HANOVER, N.H. - The Duquesne women's basketball team's program record 10-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday night after a 60-45 loss to Delaware. This was the championship game of the 2012 Blue Sky Classic hosted by Dartmouth College. The Dukes (11-2) were led by April Robinson with 12 points. Jocelyn Floyd, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, had a team-high seven rebounds. Wumi Agunbiade, who was also selected to the All-Tournament Team, recorded her 1,000th career point at the 16:03 mark of the first half. The Blue Hens (8-3) were led by Tournament MVP Elena Delle Donne with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Danielle Parker, also an All-Tournament Team selection, scored 12. The first half was low-scoring and with the score tied at 8-8 midway through the first half, the Dukes only scored one field goal the rest of the half, taking a 22-12 deficit into halftime. At the under 16 media timeout of the second half, Delaware had doubled-up Duquesne at 32-16. UD's lead grew to 27 points when a pair of foul shots from Laura Carra made the score 56-29 at the 5:20 mark. DU closed out the contest on a 16-4 run. Duquesne opens the new year on Jan. 5th when they host Miami University at the Palumbo Center. Tipoff is at 2:00 p.m. GAME NOTES
