Vanessa Abel Having Success In Germany

OSNABRÜCK, Germany - Former Duquesne guard Vanessa Abel (A'11, MSSL '13) is currently in her first season playing for GiroLive Panthers in the Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga League.
Abel, who is averaging 10.3 points per game, is second on the Panthers with 2.4 assists per game and 2.6 steals per game.
A starter in 84 of her 104 games, Abel finished her Duquesne career seventh in steals with 210, ninth all-time with 371 assists and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.386). She was named 2011 Atlantic 10 Third-Team All-Conference. She led the Dukes to a 56-24 record as a starter.
"Duquesne developed me into a professional basketball player," said Abel. "Duquesne taught me toughness, consistency, and dedication. All three things every player needs to make it to the next level."
