Suzie McConnell-Serio Accepts Head Coaching Position at the University of Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH - Suzie McConnell-Serio has stepped down as head women's basketball coach at Duquesne University to accept the same position at the University of Pittsburgh.
"We would like to thank Suzie McConnell-Serio for six excellent years as the leader of the Duquesne women's basketball team," said director of athletics Greg Amodio. "She established the program as one of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 Conference and guided this program to impressive heights. We wish her the best of luck as she moves on to this new challenge."
In six seasons, McConnell-Serio compiled a 123-68 record and participated in five consecutive WNITs. This past season, Duquesne tied a school record with 24 wins and had the best single-season winning percentage in program history at .750.
In Atlantic 10 Conference play, McConnell-Serio led Duquesne to a 51-33 record including a program-best 11 league wins this past season.
Amodio said that a national search will begin immediately.
