Late Run Lifts Ukraine Over Hungary 78-73
June 27, 2012 SOPRON, Hungary - Ukraine scored the final seven points of the game against Orsi Szecsi and the Hungarian National Team to steal a 78-73 victory on Wednesday in the EuroBasket Women Qualification Round. Hungary took a 73-71 lead on a 3-pointer by Allie Quigley (DePaul) with 1:53 left in the 4th quarter. Ukraine's Tetiana Panchenko answered with a 3-pointer 13 second later to regain the lead 74-73. After a pair of missed Hungary shots, Ukraine's Lyubov Alyoshkina would hit a jumper with 33 seconds remaining to give UKR a 76-73 advantage. Quigley's tying 3-point attempt with 8 seconds was off and rebounded by Ukraine. Alyoshkina was fouled and converted both shots with one second left to ice the game for Ukraine. Hungary (2-2) will host Belarus on Saturday at MKB Arèna .
