Agunbiade Leads Canada to Fifth Place Finish at FIBA U19 Championship

PUERTO MONTT, Chile - Canada completed its campaign at the FIBA U19 Championship with a pair of wins - 77-71 over Japan on Saturday and 70-52 over France on Sunday. The Canadians (8-1) finish in fifth place overall.
Wumi Agunbiade finished the championship averaging 10.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Her biggest game was against Japan in the Eighth Final Round when she scored 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Highlighting the U19's was Canada's 64-52 victory over the United States. The win marked the first for Canada against the USA in 36 years. The only blemish for the Canadians was a 69-55 loss to fourth-place Spain.
