Olivia Bresnahan to Transfer to Duquesne
Olivia Bresnahan has signed a scholarship offer and will enroll at Duquesne beginning in January

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head women's basketball coach Suzie McConnell-Serio had announced that Butler, Pa. native Olivia Bresnahan has signed a scholarship offer and will enroll at the university beginning in January. Bresnahan, who played two seasons at Florida State, will have two years of eligibility and will be permitted to play in games following the Fall 2013 semester.

A 5-11 guard, Bresnahan was rated the No. 68 overall player and No. 19 shooting guard in the country by ESPN HoopGurlz coming out of Butler High School. She averaged a double-double as a junior with 18.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while also dishing out 5.8 assists. As a senior, she averaged 17.6 points, 11.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists. She finished her high school career with 1,395 points and led the Golden Tornado to Quad-A Section 3 title with a 17-6 record and a berth in the WPIAL quarterfinals in 2010.

One of the most decorated players in the Class of 2010, Bresnahan was named to the PIAA Class AAAA All-State team by the Associated Press as a junior and senior. She was also a two-time member of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's "Fabulous Five" and the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review's "Terrific 10". Additionally, she was named to the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Girls All-State First-Team and to WTAE's 2010 All-Playbook Girls' Basketball team.

In her two seasons at Florida State, Bresnahan made 60 appearances and averaged 2.2 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game. This past season, she played in 30 games, making four starts while averaging 22 minutes per game.

"We are excited for Olivia to come to Duquesne," said Coach Serio. "She is going to be a great addition to the family and it will be good for her to play close to home."
