@DuqBowling Places 14th at KU Invitational

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne, facing a field that included 17 ranked teams, finished 14th at the KU Invitational over the weekend in Reading, Pa.
The Dukes averaged 193.3 in posting a 9,667 total (4,808 Baker and 4,859 Traditional) on Friday and Saturday. DU posted Baker scores of 1053 in a win over Youngstown State and 1047 in a loss to #9 Tulane. Duquesne posted traditional match wins over Medaille and Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
Freshman Olivia Farwell was outstanding for the Dukes, placing tied for third overall with a 228.8 average. Farwell’s weekend was highlighted by the first 300 game in program history in DU’s win over Medaille. Cassidy Powers placed 38th with a 199.2 average. Farwell earned a spot on the All-Tournament First Team.
Duquesne, seeded No. 15 for the Championship round, defeated LIU Brooklyn (tied for #14 nationally), 4-0 and followed that with a 4-0 win over Norfolk State. UAB, which is tied for 14th nationally with LIU Brooklyn, defeated the Dukes 4-1 in the finale.
DU finished the three-day event 5-8 (1-4 Baker, 2-3 Traditional and 2-1 Championship). Seven of the eight losses came to ranked teams, with four of the defeats coming to Top 10 programs.
