PITTSBURGH - Host Duquesne went 3-3 in the first Northeast Conference meet of the season, held at Sims Lanes in nearby Beaver Falls, Pa. on December 2nd & 3rd. The Dukes, who are ranked No. 25 by the National Tenpin Coaches Association, went 1-2 on Saturday with a win over No. 16 LIU Brooklyn and followed that by going 2-1 on Sunday, including a 4-1 in over No. 9 Sacred Heart.

The Dukes, who rolled games of 238, 213 and 243 in the victory over Sacred Heart, finished strong with games of 201, 225 and 217 in a final round win over Caldwell.

"I was great to host an NEC championship event,” said Fetterhoff. “Having the crowd behind us meant a lot to our team. The support really helped us in our Sacred Heart match. The team really fed off the crowd’s energy. We were in every match to the end, which was a big improvement over last year.”
