Olivia Farwell Named NEC Rookie of Week for Fifth Time

Farwell’s fantastic freshman season rolled along at the Red Flash Invitational. Powering Duquesne to an 11-1 record, the first-year Duke accounted for a team-high 20.64 overall frame average over the course of the three-day tournament. Farwell filled 89.1 percent of frames bowled, a rate that led all NEC players in attendance. Starting all 12 matches, Duquesne’s anchor bowler threw 67 strikes in 138 attempts (.486). Earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team, Farwell produced a 207.6 game average during Saturday’s five traditional team matches. She fired a team weekend high 246 game in a 1,009-832 triumph over Mount Aloysius. Farwell followed with a 205-pin performance to help the Dukes down Felician. During the baker play portions of the meet, the rookie right-hander averaged 20.58 pins per frame. Farwell has won five NEC Rookie of the Week awards this season while no other bowler has more than one.
