@DuqBowling Adds Two to Recruiting Class
April 17, 2017
PITTSBURGH - Duquesne bowling head coach Jody Fetterhoff has announced the addition of Sarah Kirkpatrick and Allison Hresko to the 2017-18 recruiting class. Kirkpatrick and Hresko signed National Letters of Intent with the program - which recently completed its inaugural season - last week.
"Allison and Sarah are very accomplished bowlers, but what sets them apart is their willingness to work toward getting better every day," said Fetterhoff. "They have that `never satisfied mentality', and I look for them along with early signee, Olivia Farwell, to give us a lot of depth next year."
The 2017 Lancaster-Lebanon League Singles Champion, Hresko placed second at both the District III Championship and Eastern Pennsylvania Regionals, before finishing eighth in the State Championship her senior season at Cedar Crest High School. A 2017 Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League First Team selection and MVP, Hresko holds the Lancaster County record with a high series of 855.
Hresko has bowled a high game of 300, with a high average of 220. Additional accomplishments include competing in the 2016 Junior Gold Championship and being named to the Lancaster-Lebanon League first team.
A local product from Plum Borough, Kirkpatrick served as Plum High School captain during the 2017 season. A four year letter-winner, Kirkpatrick helped the Mustangs to undefeated seasons in their section all four years, including a first-place finish at the WPIBL Championship her junior season.
A 2016 Junior Gold Championship qualifier and participant, Kirkpatrick has rolled a 275 game, posting a high series of 728 and a high average of 196.
"This strong class will elevate the next level of competitiveness on the team, so I'm very excited about next season and the future of the program," said Fetterhoff.
