BROOKYLN, N.Y. -- Duquesne bowling is one of 36 programs to be recognized by The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) for achieving exemplary academic performance.

To be recognized, a program must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher for the academic school year. For the 2016-17 season, Duquesne earned a team GPA of 3.37.

Additionally, freshman pharmacy major Elizabeth Petkac and junior athletic training major Cassidy Powers earned individual academic honors for achieving cumulative GPA's of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year.

About the NTCA:

Since its development, the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) has been a driving force in the advancement of NCAA Women's Bowling. More than half of the individuals who coach at NCAA institutions who sponsor women's bowling are NTCA members, and that number continues to grow each season.
