BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Sophomore Megan Cook (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville), freshman Sarah Kirkpatrick (New Kensington, Pa./Plum), sophomore Lauren Mayberry (Mechanicsburg, Ohio/Mechanicsburg), sophomore Elizabeth Petkac (Hinkley Township, Ohio/Lutheran West) and senior Cassidy Powers (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) have all been named National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic it was announced this week.

In addition, Duquesne was one of 38 programs honored for posting a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. It was the second time in as many years of the program's existence that DU was recognized. It is the second season Petkac, a pharmacy major, and Powers, an athletic training major, have been honored.

To be recognized, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year. This year there are 268 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 55 schools. This is a record for both individuals and schools since the inception of the award in 2006.
