Hackbart’s most-recent performance paced Duquesne during its appearance at the AllState Sugar Bowl Invitational. The second-year Duke averaged 20.24 pins per frame over the course of 13 matches at the three-day event that featured five national top-20 programs, including a pair of Southland Conference powerhouses. Hackbart threw 68 strikes in 140 attempts (.486) and filled 86.4 percent of frames for the tournament. After helping Duquesne to baker wins over Jackson State and Florida A&M on Friday, Hackbart eclipsed the 215-pin mark in each of the first three traditional games on Saturday’s slate. She started the day with a 216 score that helped the Dukes roll past Southern. She threw a 218 against Texas Southern before posting a weekend-high 234-pin performance against No. 19 UAB.

Olivia Farwell, DUQUESNE

Farwell has been fantastic thus far for Duquesne, picking up a second NEC Rookie of the Week award during her first month of collegiate competition. Anchoring the Dukes’ lineup for most of the time at the AllState Sugar Bowl Invitational, the freshman right-hander averaged 20.10 pins per frame over the course of the three-day event. Going up against a loaded field that featured five top-20 teams, Farwell posted an .829 filled frames percentage while striking 74 times in 139 chances (.532). She put forth a trio of monster performances during Saturday’s traditional team rounds. Farwell fired a 258 high game to power the Dukes past Southern. Then, she threw up a 219 score against No. 17 Tulane, the tournament host. Farwell closed the day by posting a team-high 227 in a setback to Florida A&M.
