Farwell Earns NEC Rookie of Week for Third Time
Dec. 6, 2017

NEC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
December 6

Olivia Farwell, DUQUESNE
Fr., Right, Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown

Farwell did not allow a nagging shoulder injury to dampen her Northeast Conference debut. In a sling and not practicing for much of the two weeks prior to the season's first NEC meet, the first-year Duke made a brief appearance on Saturday to shake off the rust before producing premiere results during Sunday's three-match slate that started with a win over No. 9 Sacred Heart. Farwell accounted for a 21.23 baker frame average while filling 28 of 35 frames bowled. She fired 22 strikes in 35 attempts (.629) en-route to a 9.37 first-ball average. The Keystone State doubled 10 times in 17 chances. Still feeling some effects of the shoulder ailment, Farwell converted only 54.5 percent of makeable spare attempts.
