Becca West Paced the Dukes With Three Goals and Two Assists

Berkeley, California -- The Duquesne women's lacrosse team evened its record to 1-1 with a 12-11 overtime victory vs. Denver at Cal-Berkley's Memorial Stadium Monday afternoon.
Becca West, Kelly Mulford and Laura App paced the Dukes with three goals each while Ginger Flocco added two scores and Lauren Mincher one in the victory.
Duquesne held an 8-1 lead at the break before a feisty Denver squad came out strong in the second frame and got within a 6-8 reach with 15:16 to go in regulation. Mincher gave DU a 9-6 edge at 9 from Flocco's assist followed by an unassisted goal by App for a 10-6 cushion at 7:19. Denver would hold the Dukes scoreless thereafter and inch its way to a tie with goals at 6:30, 3:17 and 1:43 before the free position score by Denver knotted the contest at 1:19.
Mulford got both DU goals in the extra period hitting the back of the cage from Flocco at 2:16 and the game-winning goal from Caroline Gallagher at :34. Denver tied the contest at 11-11 with an unassisted goal at 2:03.
Shelley Rank recorded nine saves on 15 shots while Sarah Pacini collected two saves on seven shots.
Duquesne closes out its West Coast swing with a match-up at St. Mary's College of California on Wednesday. Game time is 6:00 pm EST at the Gael's St. Mary's Stadium.
