Redhsirt freshman Morgan Matz scored five goals, including the game-winner with 3:43 remaining in the contest, to lead Duquesne to a 17-16 victory over Canisius Wednesday afternoon on Rooney Field.

Junior Casey Denk, sophomore Caitlin Prince and freshman Clare Hurley each added hat tricks to help pace the DU attack which outshot the Golden Griffins, 31-26. Freshman Amanda Kidder scored two goals and sophomore Haley Marafioti tallied one while senior Elise Caldwell assisted on two Duquesne goals.

Kidder paced the Red and Blue with six draw controls, junior Meredith Dunn led DU with four ground balls and senior Amy Gladfelter had three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Senior Liz Walker made 11 stops in goal.

The Dukes return to action on Saturday, March 10 as they travel to Lafayette for a 4:00 pm contest.
