DU Lacrosse Loses to Canisius, 17-6

Duquesne's lacrosse team allowed 10 first half goals on 13 shots in surrendering a 17-6 loss to visiting Canisius Tuesday afternoon at Rooney Field.
Canisius jumped out to an 8-2 advantage before a Courtney Battles goal at the 10:27 mark of the first half cut the deficit to five.
The Dukes however would not score for the remainder of the half and did not find the back of the net until the 24:24 mark of the second stanza, making the score Canisius 12, Duquesne 4. The Golden Griffins tallied five of the final seven goals of the game for the final score.
There were six different goal scorers for DU in the contest with Meredith Micho registering a goal and an assist.
Emily McMinimee made five saves in goal in the final 28:41 of the game.
The Dukes return to action on Wednesday, March 16 as they travel to Saint Francis (PA) for 4:00 pm game.
