Lacrosse Wins at St. Francis Friday Evening, 19-6

Duquesne's lacrosse team improved to 4-1 with a 19-6 victory Friday evening at St. Francis. Haley Marafioti paced the Dukes with five goals and three assists.
Eight and a half minutes into the contest, the Dukes trailed the Red Flash, 4-3. However, the Red and Blue went on to score seven of the next eight goals in the first half to take a 10-5 lead at the intermission.
DU dominated the second half, outscoring the Frankies, 9-1 for the final outcome.
Kidder led the Dukes with three ground balls and three caused turnovers while Meredith Micho led with four draw controls.
Kristen Gregory collected the win in goal, making five saves as the Dukes outshot SFU, 37-14.
The Red and Blue return to action on Sunday, March 16 as they travel to Detroit for a noon contest. The game may be moved back an hour or two though, depending on the temperature.
