DU Lacrosse Takes Down Bucknell, 16-5

Duquesne's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to seven with a 16-5 victory over visiting Bucknell Tuesday afternoon at Rooney Field.
The start of the contest was very competitive as the Dukes held a 3-2 advantage at the 18:11 mark of the first half. However, the Red and Blue scored the final eight goals of the first stanza and the first three of the second half to take an insurmountable, 14-2 lead with 22:08 remaining.
Clare Hurley led the Dukes with five goals on six shots, she was followed by Caitlin Prince with four goals on five shots, and Haley Marafioti with three goals on five shots. Michelle Morris added two goals while Amanda Kidder and Morgan Matz also scored.
Casey Briglia and Meredith Micho each gathered four ground balls, Tess Drotar led with three draw controls and Kidder managed a team-best three caused turnovers. Kristen Gregory recorded her seventh win in goal by making seven saves.
The Dukes return to action on Saturday, March 29 as they host Robert Morris at 1:00 pm on Rooney Field.
