Lacrosse Drops First A-10 Contest, Falls to Temple, 16-9

Duquesne's lacrosse team fell to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 play with a 16-9 loss to Temple Sunday afternoon on Rooney Field. Amanda Kidder scored five of the Dukes' nine goals while Lib Lowry had two goals and two assists.

Temple scored first just 48 seconds into the contest, but Duquesne responded with three straight goals to make it 3-1. Temple got on the scoreboard again to cut the DU lead to one before Lowry scored on a free position shot to make it 4-2.

Temple then rallied off five straight goals for a 7-4 lead that the would not relinquish.

Other Duquesne goal scorers were Clare Hurley and Meredith Dunn with one each. Kristen Gregory made 13 saves in goal.

The Dukes return to action on Friday, April 12 as they travel to Richmond for a 4:00 pm contest.
