Red and Blue Defeat Richmond on the Road, 11-8

Duquesne's lacrosse team improved to 3-1 in Atlantic 10 play with an 11-8 victory at Richmond Friday afternoon. Caitlin Prince recorded a hat trick and added an assist while Amanda Kidder scored twice and helped on two goals.
The game was played tightly for the first 41 minutes with neither team leading by more than two goals. In fact, Richmond scored the first two goals of the contest, before Duquesne tallied five of the next six scores for a 5-3 lead.
The Dukes took an 8-6 lead into the half as 14 of the 19 total goals were recorded in the first stanza.
There were no goals in the first eight and a half minutes of the second half before the Spiders cut their deficit to one. However, DU rattled off the next three points to take the largest lead of the contest at 11-7. UR scored at the 13:36 mark for the last goal of the game.
Eight different Dukes accounted for the 11 goals and keeper Kristen Gregory made 11 saves.
The Dukes return to action on Sunday, April 14 as they travel to George Washington for a noon contest.
