Duquesne women's lacrosse (9-5, 3-3) fell 14-8 to visiting Temple (8-5, 4-0) in an Atlantic 10 match-up Thursday afternoon on Rooney Field. Ginger Flocco led the Dukes with two goals and an assist while Lauren Mincher and Kelly Mulford each added two goals. Sarah Pacini recorded 16 saves on 30 shots in goal. Deanna Radcliffe and Tiffany Pulaski hit five goals each for the Owls while Pulaski led the game with three assists.

Flocco hit the first goal of the game with an unassisted score at 26:55 before Temple's Megan Condon hit the back of the cage at 26:40 for a 1-1 game. The Owls went on to score in the 23rd, 22nd, 21st and 20th minutes for a 5-1 edge and upped their lead to a 7-1 advantage with back-to-back goals from Pulaski at 10L25 and 9:49. Flocco found Mulford for a Duquesne goal at 3:20 before hitting an unassisted score at 2:48 for a 7-3 reach. Temple scored at 1:36 before Mincher and Laura App scored free position goals at :25 and :05 respectively, but the Owls took an 8-5 lead into the intermission.

The second frame began as Mulford hit the back of the cage for the Dukes for a 6-8 reach at 24:42 followed by a Temple score at 21:58. The teams would trade goals in the 13th minute with Mincher hitting the Dukes' score at 13:28 for an 8-10 reach. Tenacious Temple defense and a couple costly turnovers kept the Dukes from capitalizing on the comeback. Temple ended the contest with scores in the 10th, 7th and 3rd minutes before closing out the game's scoring at 1:12 for the 14-8 margin.

Duquesne will host Massachusetts on Friday night beginning at 7:00 pm. It's Senior Night and the Dukes four seniors: Kelly Fee, Christi Madden, Lauren Mincher and Carrie Watkins, will be recognized prior to the game's start.
