Duquesne's lacrosse team improved to 13-2 on the season with a 15-7 victory over St. Bonaventure Thursday afternoon on Rooney Field.

Haley Marafioti led the Dukes with four goals followed by Clare Hurley, Amanda Kidder and Caitlin Prince with three each.

The Bonnies scored the first two goals of the contest a little less than five minutes into the game before Duquesne responded by scoring the next six goals to hold a 6-2 lead at the 14:07 mark of the first half.

SBU and DU exchanged the next four goals, before the Red and Blue scored the final goal of the half at the 1:08 mark to take a 9-4 lead into the intermission.

Duquesne scored the first two of the second half to extend its lead to 11-4 with 17:16 remaining, and DU outscored the Bonnies, 4-3 down the stretch to claim the win.

Taylor Denk and Tess Drotar had game honors with four ground balls each, Hurley and Marafioti led DU with two ground controls apiece and Kidder led both teams with four caused turnovers.

Jenna Bishop secured her third win of the season, going the distance in goal with three saves.

The Dukes return to action on Friday, April 25 as they host Richmond at 4:00 pm on Rooney Field.
