Dukes Clinch A-10 Berth with 20-6 Win Over Visiting La Salle

Duquesne's lacrosse team improved to 10-6 overall and 5-1 in Atlantic 10 play with a 20-6 Senior Day victory over visiting La Salle. The Dukes clinched a berth into the Atlantic 10 Championship which will be played next weekend.

The Dukes trailed early as La Salle struck first with a goal 99 seconds into the game. However, the Red and Blue rattled off the next eight scores to take a lead they would never relinquish.

Senior Meredith Dunn scored five times and asssisted on another while Haley Marafioti tallied three goals and had three assists. Claire Hurley and Amanda Kidder each had hat tricks as well. Caitlin Prince's lone goal happened to be the gamne-winner. She also had two assists. Kristen Gregory made seven saves in goal to collect her ninth win.

The Dukes return to action on Sunday as they travel to first place UMass for the regular season finale at noon.
