Duquesne's lacrosse team improved to 5-2 in Atlantic 10 play with an 8-4 victory over visiting Davidson Friday afternoon at Rooney Field.

Jill Vacanti had two goals and an assist, Tess Drotar had two goals and a game-high four draw controls and Meredith Micho had a goal and a game-high four ground balls.

The Dukes jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a pair of goals by Drotar and another by Vacanti. After a pair of Davidson goals cut the lead to 3-2 with 4:29 left in the half, Megan Buettner scored off a Macy Marafioti assist and Vacanti scored on a free position shot to make it 5-2 at the half.

The Red and Blue extended its lead to 7-2 following goals by Micho and Kaitlyn DeHaven and Sarah Dawley added an insurance goal with 6:19 left. Jenna Bishop made six saves on the day.

The Dukes return to action on Sunday, April 24 as they host George Washington in their home season finale at 1:00 pm at Rooney Field. Prior to the game, Duquesne will honor seniors Jenna Bishop, Charlotte Lampenfeld, Lib Lowry, Meredith Micho and Kristen Newbrough.
