Jill Vacanti recorded a hat trick and Kaitlyn DeHaven added two goals in the Duquesne lacrosse team's 9-7 loss at George Washington Sunday afternoon. 

Additionally, Sarah Kollhoff posted two assists and Kenna Gubler led all players with a career-high five groundballs, while also recording a career-high four caused turnovers. Emily McMinimee had nine saves in net for the Dukes. 

George Washington's Michaela Lynch led the Colonials with three goals and Cassidy Shollenberger added two goals. 

1H: 
George Washington would score the first two goals of the half, before a Vacanti shot at the 22:37 mark beat GW keeper Adele Wise, bringing the score to 2-1. The Colonials would add another three goals, taking a 5-1 advantage by halftime. 

2H: Courtney Battles converted off a free position opportunity with 27:29 remaining and Vacanti would follow with a goal at 24:03 to bring the Dukes within two, at 5-3. Back-to-back GW goals extended the Colonials lead to 7-3 with 19:48 remaining, however three unanswered Duquesne goals (Konieczny, DeHaven, DeHaven) made it a 7-6 match with 10:46 to go. The Colonials would add two insurance goals in the remaining minutes to secure the victory. 

UP NEXT: The Dukes return home to host UMass on Saturday on Rooney Field at 12 p.m. for Senior Day in the final match of the season.
