Lacrosse Falls to Richmond, 17-11 in A-10 Semifinal Contest

The Duquesne lacrosse season came to an end on Friday as the Dukes fell, 17-11 at Richmond in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship. Amanda Kidder led the Dukes with five goals while Haley Marafioti chipped in three.
The Spiders jumped out to a 4-1 lead and extended its advantage to 11-2, before Meredith Dunn scored with 4:08 left in the half for an 11-3 halftime deficit.
The Dukes scored four of the first five second half goals to cut the UR lead to 12-7, but the Dukes would never get closer than that the rest of the way.
Morgan Matz had a goal and an assist and Cailin Colegrove scored her last goal as a Duke. Kidder had a game-high 10 draw controls and three ground balls while Liz Walker had four saves, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
