Duquesne's lacrosse season came to an end Sunday afternoon, losing at #12 Massachusetts, 14-7 in the championship game of the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Things looked bright for the Dukes early on as they jumped to a 4-2 lead at the 16:08 mark as Clare Hurley scored twice and Meredith Dunn and Amanda Kidder each scored once.

However, UMass tallied the final three goals of the half for a 5-4 lead. The Minutewomen continued their barrage, by scoring the first six goals of the second half for an lead that proved to be insurmountable.

Dunn and Morgan Matz scored goals to cut the defecit to five with 6:24 remaining, but UMass scored two more times to put the decision out of reach.

Hurley and Dunn led the Dukes with two goals each while Kristen Gregory made seven saves in goal. Haley Marafioti also scored and Dunn and Matz had assists.

The Dukes finished the season with an 11-7 record.
