DU Lacrosse Falls to #13 UMass in A-10 Semis, 16-3

Duquesne's 2014 lacrosse season came to an end with a 16-3 loss to #13 Massachusetts Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Minutewomen jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Caitlin Prince scored her last goal as a Duke at the 21:29 mark of the first half. UMass scored the next two goals before Clare Hurley found the back of the net to make it 5-2 with 16:24 on the clock.
That score held until the 10:32 mark when Haley Marafioti scored her final collegiate goal off a Prince assist to cut the deficit to 5-3. UMass however would score the final five goals of the half and the only six goals of the second half for the final result.
Kristen Gregory made eight saves in goal while Hurley had a team best three draw controls.
The Dukes finished the season at 14-4 which ties the school record for wins in a season.
