Seven Lacrosse Players Earn Atlantic 10 Post-Season Honors

Seven Duquesne University women's lacrosse players received a total of 12 Atlantic 10 post-season awards as voted on by the league's coaches and media relations directors. Three Dukes received Player of the Year honors.
Junior goalkeeper Kristen Gregory (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and was also tabbed First Team All-Conference, sophomore Amanda Kidder (Fairport, N.Y./Victor) was named the A-10 Midfielder of the Year and was also placed on the All-Conference First Team while freshman attack Lib Lowry (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) was named the conference Rookie of the Year as well as being placed on the All-Rookie Team. It was Duquesne's second straight Rookie of the Year honor, following Kidder's selection last year.
Senior defender Aubrey Green (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) was a third First Team All-Conference selection for DU while senior midfielder Meredith Dunn (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit) and junior attack Haley Marafioti (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) were Second Team All-Conference honorees.
In addition, Kidder, Green and sophomore Casey Briglia (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) were all named to the Academic All-Conference Team.
The Dukes finished the 2013 regular season with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-2 slate in Atlantic 10 play to receive the two-seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Championship (April 26-28) at Massachusetts. They will face third-seeded Temple on Friday at 3:30 pm in the semifinals of the tournament. The other semifinal pits host #13 UMass against George Washington at 1:00 pm. The championship game is Sunday at 1:00 pm. The champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
