Eight Dukes Receive A-10 Lacrosse Awards
Amanda Kidder was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year

Eight Duquesne University women's lacrosse players received a total of 12 Atlantic 10 post-season awards as voted on by the league's coaches and sports information directors.

Senior goalkeeper Liz Walker (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and was also named First Team All-Conference, freshman Amanda Kidder (Fairport, N.Y./Victor) was named the A-10 Rookie of the Year and was also placed on the All-Conference First Team and leading scorer sophomore Caitlin Prince (Sykesville, Md./Liberty) was also a First Team All-Conference selection.

Senior Amy Gladfelter (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), junior Aubrey Green (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) and sophomore Haley Marafioti (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) were tabbed Second Team All-Conference honorees.

Kidder and fellow freshmen Casey Briglia (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and Clare Hurley (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) were named to the All-Rookie Team while Green, Prince and Walker were all named to the Academic All-Conference Team.

The Dukes finished the 2012 regular season with a 12-5 overall record and a 5-2 slate in Atlantic 10 play. They will face Richmond on Friday at 1:00 pm in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship in Richmond.
