Megan Canny enters her first season as the Dukes' head novice coach. The former Duquesne rower brings a wealth on knowledge and experience to the program where she was a two-year competitor from 2002 to 2004 as both a starboard and port rower and also sculled in the quad. While a member of the Dukes' program, Canny helped the Red & Blue earn Gold in the Novice 4 at the 2003 Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Rowing Championships and in the Varsity 4 at the 2003 Speakmon Regatta. She was also was an integral part in the Dukes capturing the 2003 Governor's Cup at the Head of the Ohio. Canny also took home a bronze medal at the 2002 Head of the Occoquan in the Novice 4 boat.

Canny graduated in 2004 from Duquesne with a bachelor's degree in Leadership and Change Management and is currently a graduate student in the Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh.
