Varsity Eight Defends Title at Head of the Ohio

Open four takes second place

Courtney Purslow enters her first year as a coach for the Duquesne Women's rowing team. She is a recent graduate of Duquesne University with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Purslow got her start rowing her freshman year of high school in Huntington, New York. As an underclassman she spent time in a lightweight 4+ that would go on to win gold in the club category at the New York State Championships. She also spent several years sculling. As an upperclassman she competed in a 2x as well as a 1x.

During her time at Duquesne she competed in a freshman 8+ that would finish 4th at Dad Vails and a Varsity 8+ that stroked its way to numerous top finishes and medals. As a senior on the team she stroked the Varsity 8+ in its inaugural trip to the San Diego Crew Classic as well as a third place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships. Her proudest achievement was being named to the A10 1st team All-Conference as well as the A10 Academic All-Conference team.
