Assistant Coach Sarah Obernauer returns for her second season with the Duquesne women. Obernauer joined the Duquesne staff with seven years of rowing and coxing experience, first at Fox Chapel Area High School in Pittsburgh and then at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her experience brings a value to the Dukes that will help elevate the team. She is a wonderful resource for the coxswains as well as an important part of the novice and varsity coaching staff.
As coxswain of Wisconsin's Varsity 8+, Obernauer led the Badgers to numerous victories, including a Big Ten championship, an NCAA Central Region title, and a team-best seventh place finish at NCAA's. She was also named a recipient of athletic and academic honors, such as University of Wisconsin's Dean's List, the Big Ten Academic All-Conference, and a CRCA Scholar Athlete.
In her first year of coaching, Obernauer helped lead the novice team to multiple victories. She looks forward to continued success with the Duquesne women.
