Sara Slear, a 2007 Duquesne graduate, enters her first year as an assistant coach for the Duquesne University Women's Rowing team. She will be coaching primarily the women's novice crew as well as assisting with the varsity team. Slear began her rowing career as a sophomore with the Dukes and continued to row with the Red & Blue through the spring of 2007. As a student-athlete, she earned numerous medals in various regattas including the Occoquan, Mid-Atlantics, Mid-Americans and Dad Vails. She has also earned two medals in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships - in the women's pair event (2006) and varsity women's open four (2007). As a senior, Slear was a co-captain of the Duquesne Women's Rowing team, The Lewisburg, Pa. native resides in Pittsburgh and works as a nurse at Allegheny General Hospital. |
