Second Varsity Four Takes Silver at the Knecht Cup

Cherry Hill, New Jersey - Duquesne's women's rowing team grabbed a silver medal this weekend at the 2003 Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Camden, NJ in the Red and Blue's second competition this spring. The Villanova University sponsored event featured competition for over 50 schools from California to Maine, Wisconsin to Florida.

The Dukes' second varsity four finished third with a time of 8:39.1 and the varsity lightweight eight finished fifth in the petite final with a time of 8:20.8.

The men's club program captured two medals as the lightweight four finished in second place with a time of 7:23.4 while the club eight took fourth with a time of 6:52.9.

The Dukes will return to South Jersey for the Atlantic 10 Championships which will be held at the Cooper River Park in Collingswood, NJ on Saturday, April 26th beginning at 8:00 a.m.
