Dukes Compete in Knecht Cup

This past weekend, the rowing team participated in the 2007 Knecht Cup Regatta. Due to the inclement weather conditions on Sunday, the two day event was shortened to one day. Since all of the semi-final events were eliminated, the top 6 times out of all the heats advanced to the grand final. The next six fastest times advanced to the petite final.
The Red & Blue had two boats advance to the grand final.
Coach Joe Setting said, "It's unfortunate that they had to cut out the semi-final races because those are important for really determining a true grand final race. The race officials made a great decision to make the two race a one day event because the weather on Sunday was absolutely unraceable. I was pleased our team got some additional racing experience, and it was a good measuring stick against some of our A-10 opponents who attended. I am confident our team will perform well for the A-10 championship."
