Rowing Finishes Sixth at Atlantic 10 Championships
April 18, 2009 Pennsauken, N.J. - The Duquesne University rowing team scored 62 points and finished sixth in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship on the Cooper River Saturday afternoon. Massachusetts, with 141 points, took the crown and now won 13 out of 14 A-10 Championships. The Dukes won the Lightweight 8+ with a time of 7:24.6 scoring 10 points. The Varsity 8+ (7:19.0 - 12 points), Varsity 4+ (8:48.4 - 8 points), Novice 8+ (7:48.2 - 6 points) all had second place finishes. The Second Varsity 8+ crossed fourth (7:34.0 - 21 points) and Lightweight 4+ finished sixth (8:51.2 - 5 points). Katie Hodnik (Pittsburgh, Pa. /North Allegheny) was named First-Team All-Conference. Up next for the rowers is the Dad Vails May 8-9 on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.
