Dukes Finish Best-Ever Third in A-10 Women's Rowing Championship

Pennsauken, N.J. - The Duquesne rowing team posted its highest finish ever, third overall behind Massachusetts and Rhode Island. in the Atlantic 10 Women's Rowing Championship Saturday afternoon on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
The Dukes captured three events, winning the Novice 4 (8:13.6) and the Novice 8-A Petite (8:02.4), and setting a new A-10 Championship record, the only new mark this year, in the Lightweight 4 with a time of 7:56.0
The team's previous best A-10 result was seventh in the 2005 league championship. Coach Joe Setting on the crew's performance, "This was an outstanding team effort from every individual on the team. The women on this squad worked very hard this year and their efforts have paid off. Their accomplishment on Saturday was special and a defining moment for our program and its future. Its an exciting time to be a member of the Duquesne Rowing team."
The Dukes take to the waters next Saturday as they will be participating in the Governor's Cup in Charleston, W.Va.
