NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference released its 2018 All-Academic Team on Wednesday morning with Duquesne graduate student Samantha Dunn (Lake City, Pa./Girard) garnering Academic All-Conference honors.
The Academic All-Conference teams are comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their athletic and academic performance. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors.
The Lake City, Pa. native completed her undergraduate degree in psychology in just three years with a 3.82 grade point average. She also currently owns a 4.0 GPA in her graduate program, studying clinical mental health counsel.
Dunn has been a three-year staple for the Dukes' varsity eight, holding the Duquesne record for the 2K and 6K ERG tests. She helped the DU varsity eight earn its second consecutive bronze medal at the A-10 Championship as a sophomore in 2016. As a junior, Dunn attended the USRowing National Team Development Camp in Princeton, N.J. and was considered wit the U23 U.S. National Team.
In addition, Dunn was recently recognized as a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athlete.
