PITTSBURGH - Duquesne rowing head coach Joe Setting has announced the schedule for the 2009-10 season.

"Our schedule reflects a continued commitment to attend races that annually field an excellent competitive balance of teams," said Setting.

The fall season begins with the 24th annual Head of the Ohio Regatta on the Allegheny River on Oct. 3rd. One of the largest one-day regattas in the country, HOTO attracts rowers from more than 75 colleges and universities. The Dukes hit the road for the first time when they travel to Fairfax, Va. to participate in the Head of the Occoquan on Oct. 31st.

The spring season begins with the spring training trip to Winter Park, Fla. from Feb. 28th to Mar. 6th. The trip ends with DU's first-ever participation in the Rollins Invitational.

"The Rollins Invitational is a great opportunity to race against teams that we traditionally do not see during our regular season," added Setting.

The Dukes finish out March 2010 with a race against Dayton and West Virginia on Mar. 13th and the Murphy Cup on Mar. 27th.

The two-day Knecht Cup will be held April 10th and 11th followed by the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship on April 17th.

The season concludes May 7th and 8th at the Dad Vail Regatta.
