PITTSBURGH - Duquesne head rowing coach Joe Setting has announced that Sara Shippen has joined the staff as an assistant coach. Shippen, who received her degree in May from Duquesne, is currently taking graduate courses in physical therapy also at Duquesne.

Shippen was a two-year captain for the Dukes and was an the woman's assistant rowing coach at Fox Chapel High School before returning to her alma mater.

"I'm pleased that Sara has decided to continue her involvement with the team, now in the coaching capacity," said Setting. "She was a very accomplished rower and dynamic leader on the team during her tenure."

The rowing team's first event of the fall season is Sept. 27 on the Allegheny River for the Head of the Ohio.
