Former CalU standout will be goalkeeping coach

Magruda comes to the Bluff after spending two season at the University of Northwestern Ohio. While coaching the keepers, the Racers went 42-5-3 and recorded 39 shutouts. UNOH advanced to the NAIA Championship game in 2014 and the NAIA semifinalist in 2015.
As a player, she began her collegiate career at West Virginia before transferring California University of Pennsylvania, playing current Dukes head coach Al Alvine in 2010 and 2011. At CalU, she helped lead the Vulcans to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles.
Magruda was named PSAC Second-Team All-Conference in 2012 after recording a 15-51 record with a GAA of 0.84 and eight shutouts. The following season, she went 10-1-2 and set a school record with a 0.29 GAA. She capped 2013 by being named MVP of the PSAC Tournament. Her 26 wins is third and 0.59 career GPA is second in CalU history.
After graduation, Magruda worked with the PAWEST Olympic Development Program and the Mountaineer United Soccer Club. She also worked on staff for Century V as the assistant for the U-14 girl’s team.
Magruda was a four-year starter at Belle Vernon Area High School. A team captain and First Team All-State performer in 2008, she was an All-WPIAL performer for three seasons (2006-08). Magruda holds the school record for shutouts in a season (13, twice) and in a career (45), and led her teams to sectional championships all four years.
A four-year all-section pick, she was named to the 2008 Tribune Review Elite 11 All-Area Team. She was also named to the 2008 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Area Team and a Post-Gazette South All-Star in 2007 and 2008.
Magruda played club with the Beadling Soccer Team and International Football Club (IFC). With Beadling, her teams won three state cup championships. With IFC, she was a co-captain of its US Club state champion team (05). She was also a PA West ODP player for five years (04-08), including team co-captain in 2007 and 2008. Magruda participated in Region 1 events for three years (04-07) and played for the West Virginia Illusion of the USL for half of last summer.
