QUICK RECAP: The Duquesne women's soccer team opened the 2014 season with a 3-2 loss to Robert Morris in the first match of the Steel City Classic on Friday night. The match was held at Ambrose Urbanek Field on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. After RMU scored in the 13th minute, Duquesne's Maggie Mayo scored 26 seconds later, finding the back of the net off a Cydney Staton rebound. The Dukes took the lead at 2-1 after Amy Vinopal buried the rebound off an Emma Coccia shot in the 30th minute. However, the Colonials scored twice in the 2nd half, including the game-winner in the 86th minute.
UP NEXT: The Dukes will take on Pitt on Sunday afternoon in the final match of the Steel City Classic. The Dukes and Panthers kickoff at Ambrose Urbanic Field at 1:30 p.m.
