Women's Soccer Plays to 1-1 tie at Vermont

The Duquesne women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie in double overtime at Vermont this afternoon to open their 2006 season. Freshman Annie Reid put the Dukes on the board in the 86th minute to tie the contest and force overtime.
The match say just over 84 minutes of scoreless action before the host Catamounts found the back of the net at 86:08 as Carson Laderoute scored from Kaitlin Francis. Reid hit the unassisted shot at 86:40 for the 1-1 tie. Two 10 minutes scoreless overtime periods followed for the tie.
The Dukes out-shot Vermont 20-13 for the game, including a 6-1 edge in OT. Ginny Bondi stopped two of the Catamounts shots in 110 minutes of action protecting the net.
Duquesne will face Northeastern at 1:00 pm on Vermont's campus Saturday afernoon.
