DENTON, TEXAS - Duquesne's women's soccer team was shutout 6-0 by the North Texas Mean Green Sunday afternoon at UNT's Soccer Field. The Dukes are now 0-2 on the season. North Texas, led by by junior forward Marilyn Marin's four scores, raised their season record to 2-0.

Marin scored the games first three goals in a span of just 17 minutes in the first half. Marin, who has now scored four goals twice in her career, is just two goals shy of tying Christy Johnson for the most goals in UNT history with 45.

After Marin's hat trick to start the game, freshman Michelle Partain scored with two minutes left in the opening stanza to give the Mean Green a 4-0 lead at the half. In the second half, North Texas added insurance goals from Melinda Pina and one more goal from Marin at the 72nd minute of the game. Senior goalkeeper Brianna Morris pitched her first career shutout making eight saves on 14 shots from Duquesne.

The Dukes return north for next Friday evening's matchup with cross-town rival Pittsburgh (1-1, 0-0 Big East) at 7:00 p.m on the Panthers home field.
