Niagara, N.Y. - Senior Lauren Bracco, for the second straight game, tallied the only goal as Duquesne's women's soccer team upended the Niagara Purple Eagles by a 1-0 score Sunday afternoon at Niagara Field. Bracco also scored the winning goal in Friday's 1-0 win at Canisius.

Bracco, from Dix Hills, N.Y, buried a two-on-one pass from senior Julie Broden at the 56:16 mark of the second half for the game winner. Freshman Virginia Bondi matched her classmate Rachel Gecik's performance against the Griffs as she recorded her first career shutout while stopping seven shots on goal. Katy Owings had six saves for Niagara (2-4).

A second team all-conference pick following her junior season, Bracco now leads the Dukes with five goals and one assist for 11 points. She also was a District II Verizon Women's Soccer All-Academic selection as well as an A-10 All-Academic team member last year. The Half Hollow Hills West High School grad was the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year following the 2000 campaign.

Broden is second on the team with four points (1 goal, 2 assists).

The win raised the Dukes' 2003 record to 4-2-1. Duquesne returns to action on Friday, September 19th when they travel to Athens, Ohio (2-4) for a 4:00 p.m. meeting with the Ohio Bobcats.
