Dukes Fall to Hawaii 5-2

WAIPAHU, HAWAII - The women's soccer team opened their road schedule early Saturday morning with a 5-2 loss against the University of Hawaii. Audra Mathews and Kim Roncase had goals for the Dukes.
The Rainbow Wahine came out of the gates with a quick goal just 2:59 into the contest when Tehane Higa put a low shot past DU keeper Gabby Morrin. The Dukes played Hawaii close the rest of the half as the teams went into halftime with UH leading 1-0.
Hawaii was quick to score in the second half as it took less than a minute into the second half for Taryn Fukuroku to take a pass from Jessica Dominguez pass off a free kick into the back of the net.
Roncase's first collegiate goal came in the 60th minute and brought the Dukes within one goal at 2-1, but a pair of UH goals gave them a 4-1 lead. Mathews' goal at 81:59 closed the gap to 4-2, but Emma Makepa-Foley's rebound off a Kelsie Look shot ended the scoring for the evening as Hawaii (4-0-1) remained undefeated and took the contest 5-2.
The Dukes and the Rainbow Wahine will face off again tonight at 10:00 p.m.
