Dukes Top Bonnies 4-3 In Overtime

ST. BONAVENTURE, NEW YORK -- - The A-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week, junior Lauren Bracco (Dix Hills, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills West), scored the tiebreaker at 12:10 of overtime to give Duquesne a 4-3 comeback win over St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon at the Bonnies' McGraw-Jennings Field. The Dukes, who are now 5-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play, stretched their winning streak to five straight with the victory.
In the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams, St. Bonaventure (6-3, 0-1 A10) had taken a 3-0 lead 1:16 into the second half on a goal by freshman midfielder Kristen Walczewski.
Duquesne's rally began with an unassisted goal by junior Maureen Moran (Poland, Ohio / Poland Seminary) in the 53rd minute. Sophomore Justine Itte (Silver Spring, Md. / John F. Kennedy) made it 3-2 in the 70th minute and freshman Erica Carey (Wilmington, N.C. / J.T. Hoggard) tied the game at the 72:27 mark.
The Red and Blue return to action next Friday, October 4, 2002, when they travel to Richmond, Virginia for a conference match with the Spiders (3-2-1) at 7:00 p.m. at First Market Stadium.
